To achieve the CCNP Security Certification the following examinations are mandatory:
| 642-637 SECURE | SECURE | Recommended Training Securing the Cisco Routers and Switches (SECURE) |
| 642-617 FIREWALL | FIREWALL | Recommended Training Deploying Cisco ASA Firewall Features (FIREWALL) |
| 642-647 VPN | VPN | Recommended Training Deploying Cisco ASA VPN Solutions (VPN) |
| 642-627 IPS | IPSv7 | Recommended Training Implementing Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPSv7) |
| 642-591 CANAC | CANAC | CANAC Recommended Training Implementing Cisco NAC Appliance (CANAC) [Elective] |
| 642-545 MARS | MARS | Recommended Training Implementing Cisco Security Monitoring, Analysis, and Response System (MARS) [Elective] |
To attain your CCNP Security Certification the aforementioned Cisco examinations must be successfully challenged at an authorized Pearson Vue testing center. Additional examination fees will be applicable.
Please note that CCNA Security or CCNA + SND * or any CCIE Certification may act as a prerequisite.

The CCNP Security Professional Level Certification is valid for three years. To recertify, you must pass any 642 series examination that is part of the professional level curriculum or any CCIE / CCDE written examination before certification expiry date.
All CCNP Security training options are offered in the traditional instructor led classroom.
